The ProSoft MVI56E-61850S is an Ethernet communication module designed for Rockwell Automation ControlLogix Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs) to communicate with the IEC 61850 protocol. In simple terms, it’s like a bridge that connects your ControlLogix system to the Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) in your power substation.

Key features:

IEC 61850 Server: The module enables your ControlLogix controller to emulate an IEC 61850 standard of intelligent electronic devices and thus communicate with other devices that comply with the standard.

Data exchange: Through the IEC 61850 protocol, the module can exchange data with intelligent devices (such as transformers, circuit breakers, etc.) in the substation in real time, including status information, measured values, control commands, etc.

SCADA system integration: The module presents the data of the substation equipment to the SCADA system in IEC 61850 standard format for easy monitoring and control.
